Coldwell Banker BVI

Coldwell Banker are one of the most well known real estate agents in the USA, with offices in virtually every state, and often multiple offices in each state.

We were asked to provide SEO services for a number of participating “affiliates” (that’s the same as franchisees in the UK), mainly in the outlying US Virgin Islands and other island locations.

At the time the real estate market was red hot, with many Americans and other nationalities looking for retirement homes, holiday homes, and investment properties in these locations.

Of course in such a bubbling economy, and hot market, there are dozens of competitors to contend with.

We’ll cover the other Coldwell Banker sites in a separate case study, but we did essentially the same thing for each.

First of all we corrected errors on the sites, and made sure that they were optimised for their main keywords. Then we worked on the site each month to achieve the required results.

This is the first one, the Coldwell Banker office in the British Virgin Islands (BVI).

As with most of the Coldwell Banker sites we worked on, they were not performing too well in terms of how they ranked for their main keywords, the major keyword in this case is BVI Real Estate.

I’m happy to report that Coldwell Banker BVI are still on page 1 for this search term in Google.

Let me give you a handy SEO tip at this point.

Since CB BVI are an American company, and are mainly selling to the US market, it was important that they appeared highly in the US Google results.

What you may not realise is that Google forces you to look at the local results based on where you search from.

So, if you’re in the UK, then you’ll see Google UK results. If you’re in Germany then you’ll see Google DE results.

In order to overcome this you need to use a little known trick, so that you can see the results in other countries.

All you need to do is to go to the taskbar and on the very end type in &GL=XX where XX represents the country code that you want to see, then hit the return key.

So, for example, if you want to see the US results you type in &GL=US (GL stands for global level).

Hit the return key and now all searches and results that you see will be from the US results.

This will only be reset to your own countries results when you hit the Home button and perform searches again from there.

You can then check the rankings of your site as it appears to users in other countries.

If you perform this search then you’ll see Coldwell Banker BVI is no.1 for the search term BVI Real Estate, and many others, all of which are highly competitive and are a testament to the quality and effectiveness of our SEO services.
